What this page covers

Dubai Cleaning Verdict is an editorial site. We publish comparisons of cleaning companies operating in Dubai and we earn commission when a reader books through some of the links on this page. We do not sell cleaning services and we do not take bookings. This notice sets out what happens to your data when you read the site.

Information we collect

We collect two kinds of information. The first is technical and automatic: your browser type and version, the operating system, an approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages you open, how long you stay and the site or search that sent you here. None of it identifies you personally and we do not attempt to combine it into a profile of an individual reader.

The second kind is information you hand over deliberately, which currently means an email address if you write to us. We keep that correspondence for as long as it takes to answer you and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list.

We do not operate a login, we do not sell anything directly, and we never ask for payment details, identity documents or a residential address. If a page ever appears to be asking for any of those things while carrying our name, it is not ours.

Cookies and measurement

The site sets a small number of cookies. Some are strictly necessary and simply make pages load correctly. Others are analytics cookies that count visits and tell us which comparisons people actually read. A third group is set by affiliate networks: when you click through to a provider, a cookie records that the referral came from this site so the commission is attributed correctly. That cookie carries a reference number, not your name.

You can refuse all non-essential cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work. Blocking the affiliate cookie costs you nothing and costs us the commission, which is a trade we accept without complaint.

Third parties

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives the request and your IP address as part of serving them. Analytics are handled by a third-party provider that processes visit data on our behalf. Affiliate networks receive a click event when you follow a partner link. Once you land on a provider's own website you are on their property and their privacy policy applies, not ours.

We do not sell, rent or trade your data. We have no interest in doing so and no mechanism set up for it.

How long we keep things

Aggregated analytics are retained for up to twenty-six months and then discarded. Email correspondence is kept for up to two years. Affiliate referral cookies expire according to the network's own schedule, typically between thirty and ninety days.

Your rights

If you are covered by the UAE data protection law, the GDPR or a comparable regime, you may ask what we hold about you, request a copy, ask for corrections, or ask us to delete it. Because we hold so little, most requests are answered in a sentence. Write to the contact address on the site and allow up to thirty days, though it is normally much faster.

Children

This site is written for adults arranging services for a home or a business. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen.

Security and changes

The site is served over an encrypted connection and we keep the software behind it patched. No website can promise perfect security, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise. If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes are described briefly here rather than slipped in silently.
